Redirect Chain Checker

AI crawlers follow redirect chains like search bots, but long chains (3+ hops) slow crawling. GPTBot and Google-Extended may drop a chain after too many hops, meaning the final page never gets indexed for AI answers.

A clean 301 redirect passes authority signals to the destination URL. AI engines consider link equity when deciding which sources to cite — pages with strong backlink profiles redirected via 301 transfer that authority to the new URL.

A 302 (temporary) redirect tells crawlers the original URL may return. This can cause AI engines to cite either the old or new URL inconsistently. If the redirect is permanent, always use 301 to keep citations consolidated.
